Single bet: One selection, one result

A single is one selection. You stake on one result in one match. If that selection wins, the return is your stake multiplied by the decimal price. If it loses, you lose that stake. Nothing else on the card can save it, and nothing else can spoil it.

That is the difference from an accumulator. An accumulator needs every leg. A single needs only the selection you wrote down. Beginners lose less information, and usually less money, by learning with singles, because each result can be graded on its own.

The single-bet list on 2oddspredict is the day's published single, not a pile of matches you are meant to combine. If more than one row is shown, they are separate notes. Combining them is a different bet that you would be building yourself.

Work the return before you stake. A price of 1.80 on a stake of 1 unit returns 1.80 if it wins, which is 0.80 of profit, and loses the 1 unit if it loses. Write that down. A price that looks comfortable can still be a poor trade if your chance for that result is lower than the price implies.

Confirm the market. A single home win, a single over 2.5, and a single both-teams bet on the same match are three singles, not one. Each has its own way of losing.

One single per day is a cleaner record than five singles you only remember if they win. Keep the stake the same size so a later win does not have to rescue a larger earlier loss.

Check the lineup, take the price only if it still matches your chance, and accept the loss when the selection loses. A single that loses has done what a single does. The next step is the next day, at the same stake, not a bigger one.

The day's list for this market is on the tips page.
